Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, MBACP

Perhaps you have a sense that something in your life isn't quite working, but you can't fully understand why. You may find yourself repeating the same patterns in relationships, struggling with difficult feelings, questioning your choices, or wondering why things that should feel easier don't. Therapy can help you slow down, make sense of what is happening beneath the surface, and develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships. Together, we can explore what may be keeping you stuck and what you might want to do differently.

What brings people to therapy?

You don't need to have a diagnosis or be able to explain exactly what is wrong to come to therapy. People seek therapy for many different reasons.

You may be struggling with:

  • Relationships that repeatedly become tense, distant or unsatisfying

  • Feeling misunderstood, unseen or unappreciated by those closest to you

  • Recurring arguments or patterns in romantic relationships

  • Difficult feelings towards your parents or unresolved experiences from childhood

  • Uncertainty about how your past is affecting your present relationships

  • Difficulties adjusting to parenthood or connecting with your children

  • Uncertainty about boundaries, discipline or how you respond to your children

  • Feeling dissatisfied or unfulfilled in your career

  • Knowing you want your life to change but being unsure what you actually want

  • Persistent self-doubt or difficulty trusting your own decisions

  • Feeling overwhelmed by emotions that you don't fully understand

  • Repeatedly finding yourself in situations that you had hoped to avoid

  • Wondering why you react to certain people or situations so strongly

  • Feeling that you understand yourself on an intellectual level but are still stuck in the same patterns

You may recognise yourself in some of these descriptions, or you may simply have a feeling that something in your life isn't working as you would like. You don't need to arrive with all the answers.

What I Can Help With

Getting to the heart of what isn’t working

My particular areas of interest include the psychological patterns underlying relationship difficulties, attachment and formative family experiences, recurring interpersonal patterns, emotional and identity difficulties, challenges associated with parenthood, and periods of transition or uncertainty in life.

I am especially interested in helping people understand why they repeatedly find themselves experiencing similar difficulties, and how greater self-understanding can create more freedom in their relationships and life choices.

Reaching out for therapy can feel daunting, particularly if there are things you are not yet ready to talk about. You won't be expected to discuss anything before you feel ready. Therapy is a collaborative process, and we can take things at a pace that feels manageable for you. If you're unsure whether therapy with me might be right for you, you're welcome to get in touch and we can discuss what you're looking for.
