A Bit About Me
I was born in Chicago, USA to British parents and grew up in South Africa, where I completed my early education and university studies in psychology and philosophy. Living in different cultural environments from an early age has shaped my curiosity about people and the different ways we understand ourselves, our relationships and the world around us.
After completing my undergraduate studies, I moved to Ireland to pursue postgraduate study in Applied Psychology, at Trinity College Dublin, and worked as an Assistant Psychologist in the city. I later moved to the UK, where I continued my professional development through training in therapeutic counselling while working as a Psychology Tutor at the University of Sussex International Study Centre. Alongside my professional and therapeutic training, I have also been raising my family, which has given me a personal appreciation of the many demands and changes that can come with relationships, work and family life.
My interest in therapy grew from a longstanding curiosity about what lies beneath people's experiences: why we think and behave as we do, how our relationships shape us, and why we can sometimes find ourselves repeating patterns that we don't fully understand. My background in psychology, philosophy and psychotherapy has allowed me to approach these questions from different perspectives.
As a therapist, I try to bring the same curiosity and openness to my work with clients. I don't assume that I already know what your experiences mean or that there is a simple explanation for why you feel the way you do. I enjoy thinking carefully with people about their experiences and making sense of the connections between their past, their relationships and the life they are living now.
I would describe my style as thoughtful, genuine and down-to-earth. I want therapy to feel like a place where you can speak honestly without having to present yourself in a particular way or worry about saying the “right” thing. You don't need to arrive knowing exactly what you want to talk about or having already worked out what is wrong. We can begin with where you are and work things out together.
Work Experience
2025 - present | Therapeutic Counsellor
2023 | Psychology Tutor
2022 | Assistant Psychologist
During my therapeutic counselling diploma training, I worked as a trainee counsellor with CHOOSEtherapy, providing integrative therapy to adults in an online setting. I now provide face-to-face integrative therapy at The Therapy Clinic in Hove, alongside my private practice. Across both settings, I have worked with adults experiencing a range of personal, emotional and relationship difficulties. My clinical work is undertaken within regular supervision and in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework.
I worked as a Psychology Tutor at the University of Sussex International Study Centre, teaching psychology to international students across foundation, undergraduate and pre-master’s programmes. Alongside teaching and assessment, the role involved supporting students’ wellbeing and progression, recognising when additional support was needed and liaising with colleagues to ensure appropriate pastoral care. The experience developed my skills in listening, communication, building rapport with people from diverse backgrounds, and responding thoughtfully to individual needs. I also worked privately online for tutoring psychology students across the U.K.
I worked as an Assistant Psychologist at the Jung Institute for Free Analysis for Children and Adolescents (JIFACA) in Dublin, under the supervision of Dr Ian McCabe. JIFACA provides therapeutic support to children and adolescents referred by GPs, schools and childcare services across Ireland. In this role, I provided free counselling to children and young people, with a particular emphasis on Jungian approaches, including sandplay therapy. The experience gave me valuable insight into working therapeutically with children and adolescents and into understanding their emotional and psychological difficulties within the context of their families and wider relationships.
